Great progress has been made on establishing the new school. While some things are not finalized, below are the best answers we can provide currently. What is the name of the school? Messiah Christian Academy
What are the colors and mascot for MCA? This will be shared soon!
Where will it be located? The desire is to raise funds to purchase the Frankfort Intermediate School that will come up to auction in June. (248 Intermediate Dr. Fort Ashby, West Virginia 26719)
What grades will be offered at MCA? PreK 3 - 12th grade
What will be the cost of tuition? $5,500 per charter student for the 2025-2026 school year
What discounts or financial aid will be available? While the budget is still being developed, plans include providing financial assistance to families that would qualify based on multiple factors (income, multi-student) being considered.
What kind of sports will be at MCA? Plans are still in the beginning stages to provide sports for elementary, middle, and high school students. We are working in cooperation with local conferences and schools to provide for Varsity Sports. Other opportunities may be available through Mineral County and Allegany County student activities.
Who is involved in setting up MCA?
The Board of Directors is continuing to work on the foundation for Messiah Christian Academy. They have formed the corporation and are developing the operating documents.

The School Board is still being developed. The School Board will be responsible for the hiring of faculty and administration.
Will MCA be accredited? Contacts have been made to start the process of gaining accreditation as soon as the school is open. Accreditation is a process and not something that is immediately awarded to any new school.
What curriculum is being used?
Lower elementary will use Abeka.
Upper Elementary through grade 12 will use Bob Jones Curriculum.
Will the HOPE Scholarship be available to WV families? MCA is in the process of registering with the West Virginia Treasurer's office to be an approved HOPE scholarship school. Families do not need to choose a school when applying. With the June 15 due date approaching, be sure to apply!
What regulations will the school operate under? All state regulations for Exemption K schools will be followed including fire and health inspections.
Who are the teachers and staff at MCA? The hiring process for teachers and staff, including the school administrator, has not been completed. The School Board will be responsible for hiring (more details to come in the bylaws). Currently, there are commitments from enough highly qualified individuals to fill 80% of the identified faculty and staff positions, with several others expressing interest.
What church’s are supporting MCA? There are currently several churches that have committed to supporting the ministry of MCA and contacts are being made for them to have direct involvement in the school.
What denomination will the school follow? MCA is an interdenominational Christian school. While it is not affiliated with any single denomination, the mission, vision, and core values listed in the Constitution are the foundation of MCA and are based in Scripture. As the school opens, it will welcome students from many different churches and denominations.
Are there options for bussing or transportation from Allegany County? Until there is a better idea on where students are enrolling from, we do not have an answer for this question.
Has the salary scale and benefits package for faculty and staff been established and able to be shared? MCA's preliminary budget has been created, however, no details for salary can be shared at this time.
